Destin Bradwell

Wherever I go, I strive to seek out the natural beauty in my surroundngs.  I have found that if I keep my eyes open, there is always something special to photograph whether it be in a far away land or just around the corner.

Photography is my passion and it continues to bring me great happiness.  My hope is to capture the essence of the moment in a way that will inspire you as well.

Rob Connaway

My Name is Rob Connaway.   I have lived in Saint Augustine, Florida for over 35 years.   I trained as an artist and earned my BA degree in Visual Art from Flagler College in 1978.   After college I worked in my home studio, and displayed in local galleries.   I opened the Connaway Gallery in 1996.   My gallery was a studio gallery where I not only displayed my work, I also painted.   I closed the gallery at the beginning of 2008 in order to have more available time to paint on location.   I now display my work at various galleries in north Florida.

Today I work primarily on stretched canvas with acrylic paint.   My painting has evolved over the last 10 years from watercolor on paper to acrylic on canvas.   In the 1990's I was very comfortable with watercolor, and I wanted the challenge of change.   I have not lost the style of painting I have with watercolor, instead I have adapted my style to acrylic on canvas.   What is different is the intensity of color.   My watercolors are more pastel.

My themes vary from still life and floral to landscape, cityscape, seascape and garden scenes.   I have a love of dogs and have painted dog portraits.

Earl "Butch" Curtis

Earl was born in Texas and raised in Indianapolis where he attended the John Heron Art School.  He began painting in 1998 after a 20 year career as a brick mason.  One of the few artists that does not sketch his work, he works on several pieces at a time and claims he is always learning.   From tranquil seaside retreats to exotic and coastal birds to stormy St. Augustine scenes, Earl uniquely captures the moment in rich colors and exceptional detail.

K. David

K. David has been painting and drawing professionally since 1969.   He received his formal training from the University of South Carolina where he earned BFA and MAT degrees in art.   He served as chairman of the Department of Art of Newberry College form more than 13 years and is one of the outstanding Artists of the South.

Since 1987, David has been residing in St. Augustine Florida and painting local scenes.   He is proficient in alkyd painting, pastel, and watercolor.   He gives great attention to design and detail in his work.   A  popular artist in the Carolinas and Florida, K. David’s work can be seen in public, private and corporate collections throughout the United States and in many other countries.

Elizabeth Harris

Elizabeth Harris, a resident of St. Augustine since the 1970's, has painted since she was a child.  Her watercolors reflect a love for the beauty of the Nation's Oldest City.  Elizabeth paints with both opaque and translucent watercolors with a preference for the brighter colors.  She enjoys a tremendous amount of detail with an extremely fine brush.  Her formal artistic training was obtained at Flagler College, El Instituto de Allende, and Bellas Artes in Mexico.  Her favorite artists include Hieronmus Bosch, Diego Velazquez, John Singer Sargent, Winslow Homer, Remedios Varo, and Frida Kahlo.

Robert Kline

A self-taught artist of eleven years, Robert Kline is enjoying a life cycle which, to date, includes 20 years of being taught, 10 years of teaching, 15 years in finance, and four important novels. He attributes none of his artistic prowess to great thoughts or an ambition to “lasso light”. At best it is a confluence of quiet visceral or sternum thumping experiences: the barely contained raucous might of a P-51; the magnificent marriage of mass and texture molding the shifting, curving landscape of a woman’s body; the lumbering beauty of a C-47; the sexual grace of a John Alden cutter—62 feet of 60 year old magic slicing through Atlantic swells; a tropical downpour on large wet leaves; good music; loud music; cold gin in thin glass.

Francoise Lynch

Born in Port of Prince, Haiti, she moved to the US when she was 10 yet still retains the memories of the brilliant Caribbean colors she knew as a child.  Art was always her passion and love.  While she was still in her teens, Francoise began displaying that passion by creating beautiful oil paintings which she successfully marketed in public and private venues.

Francoise's paintings show her love of color and their vibrancy reflects warmth and passion with which she embraces her art.  Her interest in impressionism is evident in the manner of her brush strokes and richness of her palette.  Che chooses a variety of subjects from seascapes, beach scenes, tropical and local scenes.

Patricia Pollock

Patricia grew up in Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Michigan where her love of all things water began.  She studied painting at the Univ. of Wisconsin and has a B.A. in Art History from the State University of New York and has taught drawing for 10 years.  A full time painter for 37 years, Patricia usually paints in watercolor, she now enjoys working with acrylic on large canvases.  Her subjects are usually on, in, or around the water.

Dean Oliver Quigley

After pursuing graduate studies at the Savannah College of Art and Design, Dean has worked diligently as an archaeological illustrator specializing in the accurate detailed paintings of the lifeways of the Pre-Columbian Native peoples of the South – especially Florida.   This work requires specific attention in the matters of archeological accuracy and the input of many scientific disciplines including botanists and geologists as well as input from Native American cultural officers and Tribal Elders.

Personal Statement:   “I am grateful for all the support from colleagues and patrons alike for being able to have had such a rewarding experience in the field of archaeology and historical illustration.   It is through change and a new awareness that I have transformed …a born again painter.   This direction has revealed a simple yet profound vision of my life as a contemporary painter of the Florida experience.   It is the sunlit mornings to paint by and the endless treasures of places that are lost in time, shrouded by the canopy of trees and illuminated with color and dancing shadows.   Florida BC… before condos. “

Laine Quinn

Photographer, Laine Quinn, has been taking photographs in St Augustine since she moved here in 2004.   The natural beauty of the beaches, the harbor, and the vast marshes together with the historic charm of the Old Town's narrow streets and monuments and the "historians" in period costume, all form the pallet of Laine's Florida work.

Before arriving on these shores, Laine lived in Provincetown, at the tip of Cape Cod for 10 years.   Laine has produced a book of her Cape Cod photographs entitled Home Again, A photographic Journey Through the Outer Cape.   Read more about laine on her blogspot.

James Watkins

"Digital landscapes and painting are outgrowths of my attempt to combine poetry and photography.  I started using landscapes as backgrounds but found myself so fascinated with the pastoral beauty that I did not want to distract from the quality of the individual pictures.  For me, photography and poetry are creative outlets, therapy and a way to communicate spirituality and recreation."

James work has been featured on album covers, websites and in advertising as well as being part of countless personal collections nationally.

Michelle Whitfield

Mosaic art became an instant addiction to me as soon as I finished my first piece. After I saw the results of my labor, I started another piece. That one was even more exciting when it was complete so I kept going. I created a few more pieces and found an art gallery that was interested in my work. That day was an exciting milestone in my mosaic art career!
